To set up your booking page correctly, you'll need to decide how long your bookings will be. Do you have a set duration for all bookings or do they vary based on the appointment type? Or do you simply want your booker to choose?
In this article:
- Select the start time of each booking
- Set a fixed booking duration
- Set a flexible booking duration
- Set a duration for your Appointment types
Select the start time of each booking
In Additional options - Availability rules, you will find the start time of each booking which is the first essential step in setting up your booking duration as it will affect which available times are displayed on your booking page.
The start time of each booking you select will take your set working hours and split it into even increments of time. The minimum increment display is 10 minutes, and the maximum display is 24 hours. For more flexibility on start times, select a smaller start time for each booking.
Set a fixed booking duration
If you go to When, you will see the next thing you'll set: How long are your meetings for? With a fixed booking duration, all of your bookings will be the same length. This length can be any multiple of the grid display you've set in step 1.
Examples
- For a 45-minute meeting, you can set your grid display to 15, or 45 minutes, and your booking duration to 45 minutes.
- For 1 hour 15 minute meeting, you can set your grid display to 15 minutes, and your booking duration to 1 hour 15 minutes.
- For a 1.5-hour meeting, you can your grid display to 30, 45, or 90 minutes, and your booking duration to 1 hour 30 minutes.
Set a flexible booking duration
Flexible duration allows your bookers to choose how much time they need with you. This feature is available on our paid plans only.
You will set the minimum, default, and maximum amount of time they can choose. The available settings are based on the grid display you set in step 1. This feature is available on the Individual, Professional, and Teams plans.
With this setting activated, it will also depend on your availability. If you are available 9 am - 5 pm and offer up to a 4-hour appointment, a user booking at 2 pm would only be able to book a maximum of a 3-hour appointment with you.
Set a duration for your Appointment types
If you offer specific types of appointments where each is a different length (Zoom meetings, face-to-face meetings, house calls, etc) - use Appointment Types.
Go to Additional options - Appointment types and click on it to turn it on.
Next, click the pencil to edit the existing service "My service".
You can add more appointment types by clicking on "Create new appointment type".
Name each appointment you offer and select the duration. You can also add a description for each appointment type.
