Why does YouCanBookMe need access to my calendar account?
YouCanBook.me works by checking your preferred calendar for free and busy times. This ensures your bookings are integrated with your current schedule and do not overlap with any of your other meetings.
Can YouCanBook.me operate as a standalone scheduling service without my calendar?
YouCanBook.me is not a standalone calendar service like Google or Microsoft. For your booking page to operate correctly, it needs to pull availability from your calendar, so it can display available booking times to your clients based on existing events in your calendar.
What happens if I decide to not connect a calendar?
If you decide to not connect a calendar to YouCanBook.me, you will not be able to set up a booking page to share with your clients, or take new bookings.
Will my clients see the details about my schedule if I connect my calendar?
No, your clients will not see any of the details of what is on your calendar. When they visit your booking page, they will only see if a time is available for booking, or not.
Will YouCanBook.me see the details of events on my calendar?
When you authorize YouCanBook.me to connect to your calendar account, you are giving permission for us to view events on your calendar, as well as add new events to your calendar. Our system will only read if events on your calendar are set to "free" or "busy" but not the details of those events.
I am just the billing contact for my organization. Do I still need to connect a calendar?
To create a YouCanBook.me account, you do need to integrate a calendar account. This calendar account does not need to be connected to any booking pages if you are only acting as the billing contact or account administrator. You will not be charged for this integration.
Is my data safe?
As a UK company, YouCanBookMe Ltd is registered under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) which is tailored by the Data Protection Act 1998, and the European General Data Protection Regulation (EUGDPR).
