YouCanBookMe checks your linked calendar for any existing conflicts and blocks those times from being booked. If there are times or days you don't want to be available for booking, you can block out that time directly on your linked calendar.
This feature is available on all our plans, including the Free one.
- Blocking time in your day
- Blocking an entire day or week
- Add intervals on your availability
- Blocking different periods of time each week
Block time in your day
Any existing event in your calendar set to busy will block your availability from showing up on YouCanBookMe. To block off any time, create a busy event in your linked calendar. When you have blocked your time, YCBM will show you as unavailable for bookings.
- Create a new event on your linked Google or Microsoft calendar for the relevant timeframe.
- Ensure the event you create is on the same calendar YCBM is checking for conflicts.
- Set the event to Busy.
- Set the event to be a repeating/recurring event if you want to block the same time off every week.
- Include YCBM-OVERRIDE-UNITS in your event title when you are taking multiple bookings in a time slot.
Block an entire day or week
To block off an entire day or a week in your calendar from being booked, you can add an all-day event to your Google or Outlook calendar. Make sure you add this to the same calendar YCBM is looking to for conflicts, and make sure to set the all-day event to "busy" - these type of events usually revert to "free."
If you are accepting Group Bookings per timeslot, include YCBM-OVERRIDE-UNITS in the event title to fully block that time period from being booked.
Step by step:
- Create a new event on your linked Google or Microsoft calendar for the relevant timeframe.
- Ensure the event you create is on the same calendar YCBM is checking for conflicts.
- Check the box to make it an all-day event, and confirm the status of the event is Busy.
- Include YCBM-OVERRIDE-UNITS in your event title when you are taking multiple bookings in a time slot.
Add intervals on your availability
Through your set available hours, you can add different intervals to your availability to allow for breaks. Essentially, you can have one block of bookable time for a specific period of time, and then add a second interval for another period. All the time in between these two blocks will be unavailable. You can add intervals under the "What type of availability do you have?" setting in your "When" section.
Block different periods of time each week
If you need more flexibility over your schedule or don't want to offer all the available times on your calendar for booking, Calendar Managed Availability is the solution for you. Instead of blocking off times you're not available, you'll create blocks of time on your calendar that will indicate you are available for booking. You can manage the availability you offer to your clients directly on your linked calendar, instead of adjusting settings within YCBM.
