YouCanBookMe protects your booking pages from spam bookings, bots, and other abuse using CAPTCHA.
CAPTCHA is one of the biggest security measures used for protection against spam from website submission forms. It stands for Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart.
This feature is available on all our plans, including the Free one.
YouCanBookMe uses V3 of reCAPTCHA which helps us detect abusive traffic on the booking page while reducing friction for your bookers.
- Instead of showing a CAPTCHA challenge, reCAPTCHA v3 returns information to use to help us decide on the action being taken on your booking page. If it is determined that your booker is a bot, then the visual challenge will appear.
- You will see your form is protected by reCAPTCHA with a small badge below the Confirm Booking button.
CAPTCHA On/Off
You can enable and disable CAPTCHA Test directly from your booking form, under Booking form settings.
CAPTCHA error when booking
If your bookers report seeing this error message when trying to make a booking with you, this means the booking has been flagged as suspicious by reCAPTCHA. These warnings are determined by looking at behavioral traits like how quickly the form was filled out, and whether there were any spelling mistakes or mis-selections at various points, this all demonstrates that your booker is human.
If you continue to see issues with bookers unable to complete bookings due to this message, you can turn off the CAPTCHA Test under the Booking form settings.
Other common reasons why the Captcha test might fail:
- Low IP reputation score
- The booker's browser is blocking the captcha from detection
- The website where the booking page is embedded may not be secure
